About Canada

The Embassy of Nepal in Canada has been set up on October 1, 2009, following the decision of the Government of Nepal to open its Residential Embassy in Ottawa, the capital city of Canada. Mr. Bhoj Raj Ghimire, PhD, former Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, has been serving as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary after presenting his Letters of Credence to the Rt. Hon'ble Governor General of Canada on January 12, 2010. Until then, Ambassador of Nepal to the United States of America used to be concurrently accredited to Canada as well.
